Managing Intervention & Recognition Entries
Search => Intervention / Search => Recognition
When an Intervention or Recognition entry triggers, notifications are emailed to the proper personnel and an entry is created and managed from the associated Intervention or Recognition page.
Most Agencies then follow-up on these events by creating an Employee Log Entry to document their follow-up actions.
Viewing, Managing, and Closing Interventions and Recognitions follow identical processes.
View => Search => Intervention
OR - Employee Log Sub-menu => Intervention
Brings you to the Employee Log Intervention Search Page.
View => Search => Recognition
OR - Employee Log Sub-menu => Recognition
Brings you to the Employee Log Recognition Search Page.
Both processes work the same. In this example we will view, manage, and close a Recognition entry.
Viewing and Managing Intervention or Recognition entries.
- Click the View button for the entry you want to view or manage.
- You are taken to the View/Manage Recognition page where you see the details on the Recognition entry, the details on each of the employee log entries that accumulated to trigger the Recognition, and the entry logs.
- You have two options from this page
- Close Recognition - This option closes the Recognition Entry without any further action.
- Create Response Entry - This option creates an Employee Log Entry based upon the Recognition Entry and the Category chosen by your agency for its response.
- The majority of the times you will Create A Response Entry, so lets walk through that process.
Creating A Response Employee Log Entry
-
- Click Create Response Entry
- A Modal opens explaining what will happen. Optionally, you can also add a closing note which will remain with the Recognition Entry.
- Click Create Recognition Response Employee Log Entry.
- You are taken to the New Employee Log page with the Type, Category, and Title, pre-populated with data based upon your Agency's choices for this Recognition Event.
- This process, moving forward, works the same as creating a new Employee Log Entry.
- Finish creating the New Employee Log entry and click Complete Entry.
Best Practice:
If your agency wants to document the Intervention or Recognition steps taken so that it is visible to everyone reviewing the Employee's entire Log history, we recommend creating a NEW Employee Log Entry as outlined above.
Closing an Recognition entry, as we will show below, will NOT create an Employee Log entry visible to and within the individual employees entire Employee Log history. Additionally, closing notes are ONLY visible when you search and view the Intervention or Recognition entries - they are NOT visible when you search the Employees entire Log History.
Closing an Intervention or Recognition entry
Remember, closing an entry does NOT create an Employee Log entry, it simply closes the Intervention or Recognition Entry without further follow-up.
- Click the View button for the entry you want to close.
- You are taken to the View/Manage Intervention page
- Click the Close button at the upper left of the entry.
- Optionally, enter a closing note.
Closing notes are ONLY visible when you search and view the Intervention or Recognition entries - they are NOT visible when you search the Employees entire Log History.
- Click Close Intervention.
The Intervention or Recognition is now closed.
Viewing Closed Entries
You can always look up and view closed Intervention or Recognitions by clicking the Show All button at the upper right of the Employee Log Intervention or Recognition Search Pages.
Clicking Show All refreshes the page showing you both Open and Closed Entries
Click View on the entry you wish to view.
If an Employee Log Entry was created based upon the Intervention or Recognition, PSTracker advises that and provides a link to the Employee Log entry.
Similarly, when viewing an Employee Log Entry, If it was created based upon a Intervention or Recognition Event, PSTracker advises that and provides a link to the Intervention or Recognition Event.
