EMP (Employee) Firearms (button)

Important

This help desk article only applies to Agency's using the PSTracker Employee Owned (Off-Duty) Firearms Module.

Depending on the configuration of the course of fire selected for this entry, the buttons available on the firearm navigation may appear in one of two configurations:

  • Example buttons where ONLY the Employee Owned firearm button is available.nav-emp-firearm.png
  • Example buttons where ONLY the firearm button is available.nav-firearm.png
  • Example buttons where both Employee Owned and Agency firearms buttons are available.
If your qualification has the below configuration, you ONLY select a firearm from one of the firearm options (Firearm -or-  EMP Firearm).nav-firearm-and-emp.png

The remainder of the process is the same no matter what buttons are visible, however in this example we are showing the EMP Firearm (dual) configuration.

Adding a firearm to the range entry

Only add a Firearm from one of the two button options

If your course of fire shows both buttons, you ONLY add a firearm from either the Firearm or EMP Firearm buttons, you DO NOT select one from each.

When you first launch an entry, the firearm area on the active entry will show No Weapon Added

Possible Issues - No firearms to select from

modal-firearm-none.png

If you see the wording No firearms to select from when you click the EMP Firearm button, it is generally cause by the following:

    • The employee does not have an active firearm assigned to them in the Employee Owned / Off Duty Firearm module PSTracker

If your agency does use the Employee Owned / Off Duty Firearm module, the EMP Firearm button should not be activated for this course of fire / and or this range entry.

The best solution is to assure the employee's owned or off duty weapon is added to the PSTracker Employee Owned / Off Duty Firearm module and then try again.  Alternatively, if the main firearms module is not enabled for this entry, and you believe the firearm may be in that module, you can activate  Allow Firearms and Show All Firearms to bring all of your agency's firearms into the Firearm select list.  Here is how to bring all the firearms into the Firearm select list:

    • Click the Editbutton

    • Scroll down to the bottom of the range entry and assure BOTH Allow Firearms and Show All Firearmstoggles are active.range-entry-edit-firearms-and-show-all.png
    • If either is not active (not dark), toggle it active and click Edit Entry.
    • Try adding a firearm again using the Firearm button.

Issue Resolved

If you click the firearm button and the firearm you are looking for is now in the select list, make your selection and You are now ready to qualify the employee with the firearm.

Issue Not resolved

    • If you are unable to resolve this issue, you can proceed with the qualification without selecting a firearm, but do not forget to come back and add a firearm to this entry after the issue has been resolved.
