The Range Module - Overview / Requirements
Overview
The range module was designed to document employee range qualifications. The module allows you to easily document an employee's range qualification, and can automate the process of acknowledging policy and issuing ammunition.
The Range module is tightly integrated with the PStracker Ammunition, Firearm, Employee Owned / Off Duty Firearm, and Taser modules, however your agency does not have to use the ammunition or taser modules to use the Range module.
Requirements
There are several requirements which vary depending on how you will use the range module:
- To select and qualify with a firearm, the firearm must already be in the Firearm or Employee Owned / Off Duty Firearm module.
- To use the EMP Firearm button, your agency must use the Employee Owned / Off Duty Firearm module.
- To issue ammunition and have the quantity issued automatically adjusted in the Ammunition module, you must already have your ammunition in the Ammunition module.
- To select and qualify with a taser, the taser must already be in the Taser module.
- You must have courses of fire pre-programmed into the Course table of the range module.
- To acknowledge policy you must have your policies pre-programmed into the Policy table of the range module.
Permissions & Roles
There are four permissions for the range module:
- Range Manager - The one or two lead range personnel who manage all aspects of the range
- Range Officer - The day to day range officers.
- Reports-Range - Shows the reports menu and the range items in the menu
- View-Range - Can view but not actively manage range data
We recommend duplicating an existing role and adding these new permissions to the role as necessary.
Quick Selects
We have several range module Quick Selects that can be added to your dashboard:

- Manage Range - Jumps ti the Range Dashboard
