Documenting Directed Patrol As An Employee

This article explains how employees document their actions taken on a Directed Patrol.

Documenting Directed Patrol activity is normally a historical process, completed after the Directed Patrol concludes. You DO NOT have to start and end a Directed Patrol at the exact times of initiation and completion.

From the main navigation system, click NEW => Directed Patrol.

This takes you to the list of your agency's active Directed Patrols.

Entries in orange are recently expired.

From this page you can view the details of the Directed Patrol (with proper permissions), View a map of its location, and Document your Directed Patrol Activity.

If you have the proper permissions, you will see a View button at the far right of the row.

Click View to view the historical details of this Directed Patrol.

To view a map of the location, click the Map icon for that Directed Patrol.

Clicking the map icon opens a modal with a google map of that specific location.

To start a directed patrol click on the Start Patrol button for the specific Directed Patrol.

This brings up the Directed Patrol form where you document your activity.

There are several agency customizable fields, so your form may look slightly different.

Fill out the form.

  • Update the Start and end dates and times as necessary
  • Enter the quantity of activity
  • Enter data into your specific agency custom fields (if any exist)
  • Enter a narrative (some directed patrol subject types require a narrative. If you see * Required, then a narrative is required to complete the form)

Click Document Directed Patrol Activity to submit your Directed Patrol.
