Documenting House Watches As An Employee
This article explains how employees document their actions taken on a House Watch.
Documenting House Watch activity is normally a historical process, completed after the House Watch concludes. You DO NOT have to start and end a House Watch at the exact times of initiation and completion.
From the main navigation system, click NEW => House Watch.
This takes you to the list of your agency's active House Watches.
Entries in orange are recently expired.
From this page you can view the details of the House Watch (with proper permissions), View a map of its location, and Document your House Watch Activity.
If you have the proper permissions, you will see a View buttons at the far right of the row to view the Activation and Parent House Watch.
Click View Activation to view the historical details of this House Watch Activaiton.
To view a map of the location, click the Map icon for that House Watch.
Clicking the map icon opens a modal with a google map of that specific location.
To start a House Watch click on the Start Check button for the specific House Watch.
This brings up the House Watch form where you document your activity.
There are several agency customizable fields, so your form may look slightly different.
Fill out the form.
- Update the Date and Time as necessary
- Enter data into your specific agency custom fields (if any exist)
- Enter a narrative (some House Watch subject types require a narrative. If you see * Required, then a narrative is required to complete the form)
- If your agency allows emailing contacts a summary of the house watch, AND an email address exists for the main contact for this house watch, toggles for emailing will appear.
- You can toggle on or off:
- Send Email To Contact
- Include Narrative In Email
Click Document House Watch Check to submit your House Watch.
You will be taken back to the main House Watch Page and you will be advised if the House Watch Successfully Documented AND if the Email was successfully sent.
